Nancy Pelosi stabbed in the back (DEEP trouble)

By  |

For months, California Rep. Nancy Pelosi has fought tooth and nail with her fellow Democrats.

Pelosi is desperate to retain her position as House Minority Speaker after the 2018 midterm elections. Insiders say the liberal leader needs a stunning “Blue Wave” victory during the election to keep her job.

Inside the Democratic Party, though, Pelosi’s enemies made their move to oust her from office. Wednesday, at least 10 lawmakers delivered to Caucus Chair Joe Crowley was a direct attack on Pelosi.

The letter was a request to change the caucus rules and increase the votes needed to nominate a candidate to Speaker of the House — and they’ve forced a vote on the rule change within the next 10 days.

“Multiple House Democratic sources said the letter had been in the works for the past week,” The Atlantic reported. “Those sources see it as an attempt to increase the threshold needed for Pelosi, the minority leader, to be the caucus’s nominee for speaker should Democrats take the House in November. While 10 signatures don’t even come close to representing most of the caucus, the figure is nevertheless significant: Only five are needed for a vote on a petition like this one. The proposed rule change will be voted on next week.”

If the so-called “rebel Democrats” plan works, they’d change the process for how their party decides on a speaker. Should Democrats have control the House, the next nominee would need to get at least 218 votes.

In other words, they want to change the rules so that it will be difficult for Pelosi to keep her job… even if she delivers her so-called “Blue Wave.”

Reports say the move is being directed by Assistant Democratic Leader Jim Clyburn as part of his push to seize control of the Democrats.

Clyburn has previously expressed his desire to become speaker. Ohio Rep. Marcia Fudge, Democrat, is one of Clyburn’s top political allies and has been actively recruiting signatures for the letter.

The two have moved to get Pelosi’s political scalp in hand before the election.
